Eastern Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (EVSRA) Season Opener

Norfolk Botanical Gardens

Coach's Notes:

20 March: The season opener - EVSRA Regatta #1 at Norfolk Botantical Gardens. Rowers and coxswains must be at the trailer (at Norfolk Botantical Gardens) by 7:15 am; Trailer needs to be at NBG no later than 7:00am.

The first race normally starts at 9 am with first boats launched at 8:30 am. The trailer MUST arrive between prior to 7:30 am in order to get in.....earlier is much better since NBG gets croweded quickly with trailers and boats!!!!

The MV4+ for the first EVSRA will not be entered. There is a schedule conflict that will prevent the rowers from being able to cover the events.

Clothes: YOU MUST WEAR YOUR UNISUIT UNIFORM (Hickory colors)....do not leave home without it. Bring extra clothes and rain gear. Last year the temperatures were cold (35 degrees with a cold wind).

Food: Be sure to get some breakfast...either at the food tent or at home. Please refrain from refined sugar, soda, and caffeine......please stay hydrated at all times.

Sleep: Please get a good night's sleep.

School work: There will be down time during the regatta, so bring your school work if needed.
